Fitness New Mexico on May 21 will be broadcast on some syndicated CW Network television stations. An exclusive 1-hour show will feature highlights including Fitness, Ms. Bikini, Figure, Model and Musclemania divisions.

Lambda Theta Phi hosts Christmas Toy Drive

Proceeds will go to children in need

Albuquerque, New Mexico (December 2, 2010)- Majico Entertainment and Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority Inc. have teamed up with Lambda Theta Phi Latin Fraternity Inc. to host the first annual SALSA-BABY Christmas Toy Drive to benefit Cuidando Los Ninos.

Cuidando Los Ninos is a local non-profit organization created in 1988 to provide Albuquerque’s homeless families with sources to get back on their feet. Its main focus is caring for children of homeless families.  It is estimated that 74 percent of families who complete the program at Cuidando Los Ninos have a successful outcome whether it’s affordable housing or becoming employed.

The Toy Drive will be held on Thursday December 2, 2010 at the SALSA-BABY Dance Studio located at 307 Central Ave NW. It will be a dancing event complete with a DJ playing everything from  today’s dance hits, salsa, meringue, and reggaton, to name a few. Doors open at 9:00 pm and admission to the event is free with a toy, $5 without a toy. Those planning on attending the event are encouraged to bring a toy to benefit Cuidando Los Ninos.

Mario Chavez who works for Majico Entertainment, and who is also a brother of Lambda Theta Phi has been a major promoter for the Toy Drive.

“There are many families in need this holiday season which in turn is a great opportunity for us to help out,” Chavez said. “A simple toy will make all the difference to a child in need.”

The Alpha Upsilon Chapter of Lambda Theta Phi Latin Fraternity Inc. is currently hosting a week full of events at the University of New Mexico in honor of their national founder’s day, which is December 1, 1975. The Gamma Kappa Chapter of Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority Inc. is also partaking in these events. The toy drive is just one of the events they are hosting, in benefit of the children in need this holiday season.

You are invited to be our guest as a member of the studio audience for the filming of the first three episodes of this his…toric program live at the historic YDI Wool Warehouse in downtown Albuquerque!

“The After After Party” is a brand new program with a talk show format similar to the late-night programs that the country has grown familiar with. Taking on the formula of the familiar talk shows made famous by Johnny Carson and Ed Sullivan, as well as the familiar format of modern hosts like Jay Leno, David Letterman, Conan O’Brien, George Lopez, and Jimmy Fallon, “The After After Party” is Albuquerque’s take on late-night comedy. The preliminary episodes will air on Fridays at 2:00 a.m. beginning November 26th on New Mexico’s CW!

“The After After Party” stars local comedian, actor, and television star Steven Michael Quezada! He has appeared on HBO and Showtime, he is 5-time NMHEA Comedian of the Year, and he currently plays “Gomez” on the Emmy Award winning AMC series “Breaking Bad,” which is currently in production for its fourth season. He has also appeared in “Beerfest,” “Blood Brothers,” “Love Ranch,” and many other movies and television series. Quezada recently appeared on the cover for Albuquerque the Magazine’s Fashion and Style issue, and is arguably one of the most giving celebrities in New Mexico, spending an amazing amount of time raising money for various charities.

The house band for “The After After Party” is 6-time Grammy nominated funk band and Universal recording artist, The James Douglas Show! Averaging over 100 tour dates per year, The James Douglas Show was hailed by New Mexico Family Magazine and Guide as “Albuquerque’s Hardest Working Band,” and took home the New Mexico Music Award for Best R&B Song last year. They have shared the stage and worked with some of the biggest names in the business, and with collaborations with Hip-Hop Hall of Fame rapper Money B. and A-list Hollywood vocalist Romeo Johnson (in addition to a new album of their own) on the horizon, they show no sign of slowing down!

“The After After Party” has several guests lined up for appearances, including some celebrities and A-list movie stars, rising local talent, legendary entertainers, and many more! You won’t want to miss it!

The first three episodes of “The After After Party” will begin taping at 7:00 p.m. at the historic YDI Wool Warehouse, located at 518 First Street NW (on First Street two blocks south of Lomas, directly north of the Albuquerque Convention Center). Admission is absolutely free!
